Editors of the NIV pee sitting down

Well, well, well – what a weekend. It was a long one, lots and lots of work, but I would like to think that service today was good – at least from where I am sitting. So today I was browsing some blogs, I was reading Tall Skinny Kiwi’s Blog and he led me to Trevin Wax’s blog and he had posted a crazy video. You should watch it. It’s of a KJV only pastor preaching about the phrase “Him that pisseth against the wall.” This guy is legit, and it’s not a joke. His church’s website can be found here I love Trevin’s line describing the video:

Two aspects of evangelicalism sink to a new low here. First, the KJV-Only crowd shows its desperation by using this example to bolster its case. Secondly, the whole “we need real men” theme (and real men speak crudely from the pulpit, of course) that runs from the Man’s Church to Mark Driscoll has apparently made its way into the very heart of isolationist fundamentalism.

Anyway, can’t wait to hear what you have to say about this!

Christians Wrong About Heaven

Who doesn’t love N.T. Wright? The Bishop is a great thinker and writer and in his new book “Surprised By Hope” he tackles the subject of heaven. This is a conversation I have been having lately with a few different people, about how maybe we’ve been wrong about what Heaven really is. Anyway, The Bishop did an interview with Time magazine about the book.
